International Travel With My 73 Year-Old Mother – OHS060

Would you travel with your mother? Is your mother your ideal travel partner? What does it mean to travel internationally with a 73 year-old woman who happens to be your mother? These are the questions I have been asking myself for the past two years. Deep contemplation and inner exploration as I investigate what it means to take my mother traveling to other countries. Yet, the true question of consideration I find myself asking me is, “What am I willing to do to help my mother fulfill some of her dreams?”

I must say I do love international solo travel. The key word is SOLO! Therefore, the idea of traveling internationally with my 73 year-old mother has given me cause to pause. “Is this truly something I want to do?” Then I realized traveling with my mother is not about me. It is about her. It is about being in a position to make some of her dreams come true. It is about repaying the kindness of my mother. This podcast is about how I changed my thinking that allowed for a win-win situation for my mother and myself to enjoy time traveling.
